PILGRIM PINES CAMP AND CONFERENCE CENTER

What You Can Do

What You Can Do

Pilgrim Pines survives primarily on the income provided by the many people who make use of our services, programs, and facilities during the year. Your Camp and Conference Center is 501c(3) non-profit organization. We work with an annual budget and we diligently try to keep our operations at a break-even basis.  We know that the Center can operate at that level with our effort and your help.  We are not planning a bigger facility for Pilgrim Pines, rather one that can use our current facilities to be of greater service to a larger number of guests. There are many ways you can be a supporter of Pilgrim Pines.

Campership

We want every potential camper to be able to have the privilege of attending Pilgrim Pines Camp and to experience the unique camping experience that we offer.  To accomplish this, we offer financial need-based Campership assistance at various levels to meet the fees associated with camp.

In 2008 we gave out $20,000 in Los Angeles Times grants and $18,613 in Pilgrim Pines Camperships to assist in enabling campers to have the week of their lives at camp. In 2009 we did not receive the LA Times Grant, however we awarded $21,703 in Pilgrim Pines Camperships.  We are not receiving the LA Times Grant in 2010 so our need for campership funds is great.  Although we have very generous donors who make so many Camperships available each year, funds are limited, and we ask for any assistance we can get in order to get campers to Summer and Year-Round Camps.

Our camp fees are some of the lowest in the country but it is still hard for some to come up with the Summer Camp registration fee of $395 or $440 for Pinesters. Even a $25 donation will go far as money donated towards a Campership goes directly to a fund spent entirely on financially assisting campers to meet the fees associated with camp.

Another way to support the Campership fund is to purchase a souvenir from our Campership Store at Pilgrim Pines. All proceeds from the store go directly to our campership fund enabling those less fortunate to attend camp!

Each potential Campership recipient must fill out a Campership application form detailing why they want to come to camp. Campership funds are awarded based on income requirements, as outlined on the application form. If a family income exceeds the amount on the chart, no award can be given. A panel made up of Pilgrim Pines employees considers each application and grants awards based on need.

What a GREAT way to make sure everyone has a place at the table!
Work Days

A great way to get together and make a difference. Come and join your friends and family in a time designed to give back to camp. Make new friends and share old memories at a place that connects people. Projects vary from each work day. We hope to see you there.
