A Warm Welcome....

 

The Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that after an extensive search, Matt Garcia has joined the Pilgrim Pines Camp family as our new Executive Director. 

 

Matt brings over 3 decades of experience in camps and program development. He has served at almost every level at camp and has recently been the Director of a YMCA camp in Oregon. His passion for the camp experience and the commitment to seeing Pilgrim Pines thrive made him a standout choice to lead us into our next season and beyond. He was drawn to us because of our inclusive mission statement.

 

Born and raised in rural Maine, Matt went to summer camp for the first time after his freshman year of college in 1991. Thirty-five years later, what started as a summer job had become a career and a vocation, and Matt has served at nine different camps across the country. Matt and Monica have been married for 15 years, and their daughter, Abigail, is in the 4th grade. The Garcias lived in Big Bear for years and are excited to return to Southern California, where they have many friends and a wonderful school community. They are all excited to be joining the camp family!​​
