Bright Pink Paint Splatter Holi Fest Fac

As Covid-19 continues to leave us all in uncertain times, we must create alternative summer camp programming for the 2021 season. Families should know that there will be many additional regulations, policies, changes, and procedures put in place to ensure we are doing our best to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission at camp. Those applying for camp in 2021 should be prepared to be extremely patient, flexible, and understanding as we continue to learn how to best keep our camp community as safe as possible.

Priorities

  1. All camp offerings will be created with the safety of campers and staff as top priority

  2. All camp offerings will be done well, with meaningful programming in line with our mission and vision

  3. All camp offerings will seek to be participatory and inclusive of ALL campers

  4. All camp offerings will be created to be affordable for families, with camperships still available (while also covering the costs of program staff and supplies)

  5. We desire and need to keep Pilgrim Pines Camp fiscally strong; we encourage donations to help with the running of camp during this continued crisis

COVID-19 PREVENTION

The following are some highlights of the major changes and requirements to our summer family camp operations for summer 2021. Applicants will receive a more detailed outline of our 2021 COVID prevention policies. These policies will remain requirements regardless of vaccine or antibody status. If anything changes in the future, we will email updates to registered campers.

All campers/family or POD units will:

  • have an emergency contact within 4 hours of camp for the duration of the session for emergency immediate pick-up.

  • commit to following social distance/mask protocols when leaving your pod only for essential errands and business for fourteen days prior to attending camp.

  • provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken 2-4 days before the start of camp for each of member of your household/pod (either vaccine or is is expected at the time our registration was developed, but safety standards could change in future months)

  • agree to our mandatory face mask policy while at camp. Campers will be required to bring and wear a face mask, except when inside their assigned cabin or at their cabin’s assigned dining table. Campers should feel comfortable with long term mask wearing. No exceptions.

  • understand if the camper or anyone in their household is considered immunocompromised, we ask that you please consider attending virtual camp this year or consult about risks with a licenced physician.

Theme: Be Brave.  Be Bright.  Be YOU!

This summer’s theme will focus on the uniqueness, creativity, brilliance, and resilience that is divinely part of each and every one of us.  Regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and abilities, we are ALL children of God and we are here to love and work in solidarity.  We will explore how the love we feel at camp (whether virtual or in person) can be expressed into our daily lives and communities.
